Eight Doosan baseball players have been disciplined by the KBO after it was revealed that they were prescribed sleep-inducing drugs on behalf of former baseball player Oh Jae-won.

The KBO held a punishment committee yesterday (April 4) and decided to punish Doosan players Kim Min-hyuk, Kim In-tae, Park Kye-beom, Park Ji-hoon, Ahn Seung-han, Lee Seung-jin, Jang Seung-hyun, and Je Hwan-yu with 80 hours of community service.

The KBO decided to impose this punishment in light of the players' difficulty in refusing the senior player's coercive and intimidating demands, and the fact that they admitted their wrongdoing and turned themselves in.

The KBO also announced that it will continue to provide thorough education to all players on prescribing drugs and strengthen the management of player prescriptions by clubs to prevent recurrence.
